Interactive Museum of Economics
One of the most innovative museums in Mexico City is the Interactive Museum of Economics (MIDE for its Spanish acronym), the first museum in the world dedicated exclusively to economics.
The museum was opened in 2006 and is located on Mexico City’s historic center.
Among others, this museum has been recognized through the following awards:
· Gold Muse Award in 2007 by the American Association of Museums for the Market Simulator section.
· Roy L. Shafer Leading Edge Award, in 2007 by the Association of Science and Technology Centers, in the category for Leadership and Experience for the Patrons.
· Award by the International Council of museums AVICOM in the category for Interactive Stations in 2007.
· The Interamerican Development Bank gave two awards to the BBVA Bancomer program Go Ahead with Your Future, developed by MIDE in the categories Learn Banking and People’s Choice in 2010.
